How to Create Your First Project Inside Filterpixel
Set up your first project in FilterPixel, from image import through organization and rating.
Setting up your first project in FilterPixel involves a straightforward process designed to have you working quickly with RAW or JPEG files.
Step 1: Add Your Images
Begin by either:
- Clicking the Create Your New Project button, or
- Dragging and dropping a folder of images into the workspace

Step 2: Name Your Project
Next, you'll:
- Enter a project name
- Choose the type of shoot matching your project
Then click Next to continue.

Step 3 (Optional): Set a Magic Number or Fine-Tune with Advanced Options
Set a Magic Number
Enter a target number of images you want to retain. FilterPixel will prioritize selecting that quantity of top-performing images.

Fine-Tune with Advanced Options
Customize the culling process by adjusting:
- Duplicate detection
- Blink detection
- Focus quality evaluation

Step 4: Start Culling
Click Save & Start Culling to begin analysis. FilterPixel automatically organizes completed results into three views based on your onboarding preferences.
Start Rating
Photos receive ratings using a star system reflecting quality and relevance.

Color Rating
Images receive color code labels for visual filtering and categorization.

Tag-Based Grouping
Images organize by tags such as Best, Review, and Rejected for efficient sorting.
You can modify selections via right-click or keyboard shortcuts (press Ctrl/Cmd + K for available options).
