Setting Up Your Workflow Preferences in FilterPixel
How to configure star rating, color rating, and tag workflow preferences in FilterPixel so culling decisions sync with Lightroom and Capture One.
Overview
This article explains how to configure workflow preferences in FilterPixel, a photo culling application that integrates with editing software like Lightroom and Capture One.
Workflow Preferences Setup
After launching the app, navigate to the Preferences tab to select your preferred culling approach. FilterPixel offers three distinct workflow options:
1. Star Rating
This method automatically assigns star ratings to photos. You determine which images receive specific rating levels. The ratings synchronize with Lightroom, Capture One, and other software following export.
2. Color Rating
This approach automatically applies color ratings to images. You can customize which photos receive particular color designations. Like star ratings, this integrates with major editing platforms post-export.
3. Tags
This option automatically marks photos with custom tags. Tagged metadata appears in the Keywords section of Lightroom and Capture One after exporting from FilterPixel.
Culling Preferences Configuration
When initiating a new project, a Configure Culling dialog appears. You can:
- Enter a "magic number" for quick setup, or
- Access Advanced Options for detailed customization
Advanced Options enable configuration based on:
- Duplicate Photos detection
- Eye Blinks identification
- Focus Quality assessment
All three workflow types sync seamlessly with industry-standard editing software.
